Home Care in Pinal County, AZ
Meridian Home Care brings non-medical home care to families in Pinal County, from help with a shower to company on a long afternoon. Pinal County homes are spread across a lot of miles, so we set schedules ahead and settle the days and times before care starts.
How We Plan Home Care in Pinal County
The county is wide, and the drive to each town we visit is very different. San Tan Valley is the shortest. It borders the East Valley, and it became an incorporated town on September 17, 2025, when its first council was appointed.
Gold Canyon is among the oldest communities we visit in the county. The Census counted 11,404 people there in 2020, 54.3% of them 65 or older, and Banner Goldfield Medical Center in Apache Junction lists Gold Canyon among the communities it serves. SaddleBrooke, north of Tucson, sits in Pinal County too, and it's covered on our Tucson page.
Towns farther south and east take more planning. For those homes, we work out the visit days, start times and any overnights with you before the first visit. If something needs to change later, we talk it through with you.
Close by in the East Valley, we also have pages for Queen Creek, Chandler and Apache Junction. Every place we serve is on our service areas page.
Everyday Help at Home in Pinal County
The Census Bureau counts 22.6% of Pinal County residents at 65 and older. Next door in Maricopa County, it's 17.7%. Census figures for the Arizona City area run higher still, at 27.8%. About eight in ten homes in the county are owner-occupied. For a lot of people, that house is exactly where they want to stay.
That's where our help comes in. A caregiver can help with a shower, getting dressed and getting from the bed to the chair through personal care. With companion care, there's someone to talk with, play cards with and drive to the store. Meals, laundry and a tidy kitchen fall under home help for seniors.
For someone living with memory loss, our dementia home care keeps the day calm and familiar. If one family member carries most of the load, respite care gives them real time off. When nights are the hard part, 24-hour and live-in care puts someone in the house after dark. Everything we do is on our home care services page.
Central Arizona Aging and the County's Senior Centers
The Area Agency on Aging for Pinal and Gila counties is Central Arizona Aging, formerly known as the Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens. Arizona's Department of Economic Security numbers it Region V. It's based in Casa Grande, and its services include Meals on Wheels, caregiver support groups and education, senior centers and legal services. It's a separate agency, and its website is caaging.org.
Its senior center list covers 12 centers across Pinal and Gila counties, with meals, company, classes and recreation. In Florence, the town runs the Dorothy Nolan Senior Center, with subsidized meals for seniors, recreation and social time. It's named for Dorothy Nolan, who helped organize the Pinal Council for Senior Citizens and served as its first president.
Casa Grande's Dorothy Powell Senior Center offers programs for residents 50 and older, with a weekday lunch at 11:30. The Coolidge Adult Center serves a hot meal at noon, Monday through Thursday, and the Eloy/Toltec Senior Center is on Central Arizona Aging's list too. In the city of Maricopa, the Maricopa Community Center welcomes the city's senior and veteran community with social time, lifelong learning, arts and entertainment. The city also has its own Senior Advisory Committee.
A senior center lunch can be the best hour of the week. Getting there is the hard part once your loved one has stopped driving. A caregiver can help them dress for it, drive them there and bring them back home.
Buses and Ride Services Around Pinal County
Local ride options vary by town. CART, the Central Arizona Regional Transit bus, links Casa Grande, Coolidge, Florence and Eloy on weekdays from 5:15 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. It runs the full route about every two and a half hours, so it's a bus to plan around. Drivers put down ramps or lifts on request, portable oxygen is welcome, and there's priority seating for seniors.
Coolidge's own Cotton Express adds on-demand rides around town, booked a day ahead. In Casa Grande, CG LINK offers curb-to-curb rides Monday through Saturday, and its stops include the Dorothy Powell Senior Center and the Banner medical center. The city of Maricopa runs MET, a curbside service for appointments, shopping and community events.
A bus that comes every couple of hours is a long wait in summer heat over 110 degrees. With companion care, a caregiver can drive the person you care for to the doctor and sit with them in the waiting room. On the way home, the caregiver can stop at the pharmacy.
Hospitals, Clinics and the Days After Discharge
Banner Casa Grande Medical Center is open 24 hours, with 141 private rooms. HonorHealth Florence Medical Center is a 36-bed hospital with round-the-clock emergency care. Exceptional Community Hospital has a site in the city of Maricopa and another on Milligan Road in Eloy. The Eloy one is a short drive from Robson Ranch, the 55-and-older community there. Nearer the East Valley, Banner Ironwood Medical Center sits on Gantzel Road, in the 85140 area.
The first days home after a hospital stay can be the hardest. Our post-hospital care covers that stretch: help in the bathroom, simple meals and a ride to the follow-up visit. For a longer-term condition like COPD or Parkinson's, chronic condition support keeps the daily routine steady. The medical side stays with their doctors and nurses, and we handle the everyday help around it.
Visits Out to Superior and Kearny
Superior has its own senior center on Main Street, listed by Central Arizona Aging. Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center runs a clinic in town as well.
Kearny, the town says, was founded in the 1950s as one of the first planned integrated communities in the country. It sits on Highway 177 in the Copper Basin, between the Tortilla and Dripping Springs Mountains. Cobre Valley runs a clinic there too, with general care for patients of all ages. These are long trips, so we plan visits well ahead and settle the schedule with you before the first day.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you really come out to Pinal County?
Yes. We come out to Pinal County homes on schedules we set ahead with you. The farther the town, the earlier we like to plan.
What's Central Arizona Aging?
It's the Area Agency on Aging for Pinal and Gila counties, formerly the Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens. It shares information on public programs and lists services like Meals on Wheels, caregiver support and senior centers. It's separate from Meridian Home Care, and it's a good resource to know.
Can a caregiver drive my loved one to appointments and the senior center?
Yes. Rides to appointments, errands and the senior center are part of companion care. Buses and ride services differ from town to town, and a caregiver can fill the gaps around them.
How do we get started?
Call and tell us where the person who needs care lives, what help they need and which days matter most. We'll talk it through and build a schedule around the drive and their routine.
